Headings Family Reunion

July 15, 2008 by headingsfamily

The Howard Headings family reunion 2008 has come and gone. A great time was had by all! We are all grateful for the hospitality of my sister and her husband Cathy and Howard, and my niece and her husband, Kim and Neil.

This is everyone except little Henry, who was napping!

Kim and Neil’s house is on a lake and has plenty of space for an event like our reunion. The weather was rainy and a little chilly on Saturday, but Sunday was beautiful. Neil took many of us out on the lake on the neighborhood pontoon boat and their neighbor brought his ski boat over for those who wanted a little more speed!

Jared and Colin both got a chance to try tubing. Colin thought it was the most fun he’s ever had!

The reunion is always a great time to reconnect with family that we don’t get to see very often. We got caught up, shared a few tears and much, much laughter. We even got to share in Howard and Cathy’s 40th wedding anniversary “roast” prepared by their children, Kim, Derek, and Trent. It was truly special to be included in the celebration of such an auspicious occasion. Thanks once again to the Kansas branch of the Headings family for hosting us this year! Blessings to all of you!

Tonight, Tucumcari, NM!

Hello world!

Hey people!

We have created this blog to journal our summer vacation. There will be words and pictures and maybe the occasional video, depending on what we have done. We also hope to rotate the authorship between the members of the family.

So that I can practice the various features on this site, here is a picture of our somewhat feisty Westie, Maisy!

\"Pay attention to me!\"

This pretty much epitomizes her attitude most of the time! She’s a great dog, but keeps us hopping! You should see when the boys go outside to play ball and leave her inside (because she steals the ball and runs away!) She gets mad and whines and cries until they come in, or we finally let her out.

Well, I’ll call this my first post and go about my business. Stay tuned!
